In this team outing at the RDM in Rotterdam you compete against your colleagues to see who can program the fastest robot. The challenge is to finish a race track, and of course in the fastest time of the day. During the Robot Race team outing we will work with Mbot from Makeblock. Don't worry, everything is clearly explained to you. At the end of the workshop, you and a small team have programmed your own robot to race against the clock and your colleagues. You do this by programming in a visual way using blocks that you can drag with the mouse. Are you looking for something more challenging? The Mbots can also be programmed using Arduino, so you have the extensive possibilities in your own hands.
During the workshop your team will be divided into groups of two and three people. Each group receives a robot, batteries and a laptop. Your group is successful when the track has been completed and all checkpoints on the track have been achieved by the robot.
To shave seconds off your finishing time, there are also various time bonuses to be achieved, such as adding and avoiding obstacles at the checkpoints to earn a time bonus of 3 seconds per checkpoint. In addition, a time bonus of 10 seconds can be earned by crossing the most difficult finish and a time bonus of 5 seconds by crossing the second most difficult finish.
And of course, only one can be the fastest. Is your group programming the fastest robot of the day?
