This week we proudly hosted the kick-off of PortXL in the Loft, we received KPN IoT for a great IoT workshop from Junior IoT and the Commissariat Room was used for various meetings. Three European projects in the Loft

The Transformation of European Shipbuilding: Exploring the Impact of New Technologies! Yesterday and today there are three different European projects in the loft, all aimed at applying new technologies in shipbuilding processes. These three projects, namely the FIBRE4YARDS project, Mari4_YARD and the Resurgam Project, share their knowledge and developments to advance the future of shipbuilding. Educational 5CC event with the Municipality of Rotterdam at the RDM

This week the Municipality of Rotterdam visited us at the RDM for an event called 5CC (Five Cities Connect). This day was packed with workshops and networking moments. The day started in the Auditorium, where guests from five different world cities received an introduction to the RDM. They were then treated to inspiring speeches by Fatuma Koker and Gerlof de Haan. After the plenary part, the visitors were led to the IT Campus, where they participated in various workshops in four different break-out rooms. KPN event inspires female inclusivity and equal opportunities in society.

This week De Loft was all about women in the workplace! KPN visited us on Wednesday and Karlijn Straver from WOMEN INC gave an interactive presentation about female inclusivity within companies. WOMEN INC has been striving to improve the position of women in the Netherlands since 2005 and the guests present were actively involved in the conversation to share thoughts and ideas. KPN impressed by the technology on the RDM – See what they discovered!

A tour of the Innovation dock with KPNG Yesterday, 250 KPN managers visited the Innovation Dock for an inspiration day with the theme "progress starts with you". We received them at the RDM location and guided them on a tour of the Innovation Dock. During the tour we introduced them to various digital technologies, including 3D printing, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning and drones. Robot race with Comaen

Robot Race: Program your way to victory! On a recent team outing in the Loft, Comaen came by to do the Robot race with us. After an instructional presentation, participants were divided into groups of 2 to 3 people and were each assigned a laptop and a driving route to a table. Here they could program their own robot to participate in the race.
